I am loving that it is still June and we are still in the middle of our summer! I do NOT like when July hits. That's when the stores start pulling out the school supplies! UGH! We will definitely discuss that another week. Let's focus on the fun for now while it's still here!!!
Here is what week 4 of summer brought for us!!!
Saturday
Our family met at Sonic to celebrate Father's Day. We enjoyed sitting outside while we ate dinner and gave our gifts to my dad for being such a wonderful father all these years!
After Sonic, we all headed to Music on the Square. It was country music night and the band was really good! As we arrived, we saw a beautiful rainbow in the sky. We are not sure where it came from because it hasn't rained a drop in more than a week, but it sure was a pretty way to start the night.
Sunday
We went to church Sunday morning. Then we took Kevin to Mezcal and Yogurt Mountain to celebrate Father's Day with him.
Ava and Cami went to VBS with Sadie-Beth, a friend from school.
Here is a precious picture Ava drew when she got home from VBS:
Dalton and Elia stayed home and played on the waterslide.
We also picked up Monica's dog so we could dog sit while they went to Disney World. We love Ginger, and we LOVE keeping her while her family is away!
Monday
Carol and I headed to Bootcamp at 6:30 am. Whew! Did we get a workout! My arms hurt to even hold them up to wash my hair. No pain, no gain right?
After a good rest, we headed to the pool where the kids had fun with friends.
Then Cami came home with us and Kevin fixed the girls bacon and eggs for dinner. Then the little girls went to VBS with Sadie-Beth.
Elia went with Dalton to a friend's house. They live on the lake in Lakeland, and Elia had a ball!!
Tuesday
KK came down and we headed back to the pool where we met Mandy and other friends!
Wednesday
Once again, we woke bright and early to head to boot camp.
Then Kevin and I decided to have a family day. We took the girls to Putt-Putt where they played video games.
We played a round of mini golf.
The girls hit balls in the batting cages.
And they took a spin on the bumper boats.
It was SO hot so we decided to end our day with Jerry's Snowcones! YUM!
Thursday is definitely going to be a rest day! We plan on sleeping in very late and staying in our pajamas most of the day! We are worn out!!!
Of course, the girls have slept in almost every day this summer. I love this picture of them and the 2 dogs. Miley is on the bed sound asleep with Ava and Ginger is sound asleep on the trundle bed with Elia. Too much fun for everyone including the dogs!!!
Some of you may be wondering what Kevin is doing while we are at the pool each day. Well, he has started another backyard project. I will leave you with these pictures so you can see the start of his project. Any guesses about what it could be???
I know we just finished week 3 of summer, but it already feels like it is going by way too fast! Here is what week 3 looked like in our house:
Friday
Carol and I woke up bright and early and went to Bootcamp. I have to say that I am very proud of us for waking up so early during our summer to work out. Of course, we do have plenty of lounge time to make up for it.
Once Elia and Ava woke up, we went to see Madagascar 3. It was a very cute movie and I highly recommend going to see it.
After the movie, Carol and I went to pamper ourselves with a mani and pedi. I tried the new "jelly pedicure" and it was very nice!!!
Then we set up the waterslide for the kiddos. They acted like it was a full size swimming pool. They were doing cannonballs and dives into it. They were really quite funny and entertaining to watch!
Saturday
On Saturday we had the parent meeting for Elia's competitive soccer team. Then we ran errands. When we got home, I took a 4 HOUR NAP! Yes, you read that right. I slept for a solid 4 hours. I can't imagine why. It's not like we do anything! LOL!
After my very nice nap we went outside in the cove to play. The kids played on the waterslide again.
Cami and Ava pulled out art supplies and colored in the driveway. It's as good of a place as any I guess.
Dalton and Elia played basketball on the game Elia bought with her allowance. We put the goals on either side of the garage and it came with a scoreboard and timer. Pretty neat.
Sunday
We went to church. Then we played outside of course.
Monday
Carol and I started off the day bright and early at Bootcamp. Then we rewarded ourselves with a trip to the pool. The kids had fun jumping in and throwing the ball to each other as they jumped in the pool. We ended up staying about 3 hours when we were forced to head home due to a sudden storm.
Tuesday
Kevin and I took the girls to Chuck-E-Cheese where we stayed for about an hour.
Then we ran errands and headed home so the girls could use their new paint sets.
Of course, we squeezed in playing outside.
Then we watched the USA vs. Guatemala soccer game. Elia was so excited about this game and she wanted Guatemala to win! We ended up paying $30 to get the game on Pay Per View but it was worth every penny to see how Elia stayed glued to the TV. It was good for her to watch a real soccer game and it was good for both girls to root for their country! Go Guatemala! The ending score was a 1-1 tie.
Wednesday
Once again, Carol and I headed to bootcamp bright and early. Then I had to wake up the girls at noon!!!
Miley likes to sleep late during summer too!
I met my mom to run a couple of errands together and Kevin took the girls to run some errands of their own. Then we all got home and played in the cove, of course!
Thursday
We all went back to the pool!
Can you guess what we did when we came home? You got it! We played in the cove!!!
Friday
We headed back to Bootcamp bright and early. However, don't be fooled by our early morning work outs. I have been known to get back in bed and go back to sleep once we get home. HA!
Once everyone got up and em, we headed to the skating rink to take advantage of the free summer skating program. We had Carol and her kids, me and my kids, Heather and Abigail, and Mandy and her kids. We also ran into Hollie West and her kids. It was very nice to have some "mommy time" while the kids skated.
Whew! I am worn out just writing about our busy week! I can't imagine the fun (and naps) that week 4 will bring!!!!
It is only the 2nd week of summer, and we have been busy, busy, busy! We love to soak up every second we can of our summer time!
We decided the day after our Little Rock trip would be a good rest day so that is exactly what we did. Of course, the girls were bored but it was a much needed day of rest.
On Friday Kevin and I took the girls to Incredible Pizza. It is not my favorite place to go but the girls had a blast. They ate pizza.
They played video games.
They played Glow-in-the-Dark Putt Putt.
Elia rode the go-carts and won 1st place!
Ava wrote in the diary she won with her tickets. (She is still not tall enough to ride the go-carts. Maybe next year.)
And they played TONS of bowling games.
On Saturday, we decided to have a garage sale and get rid of some of the junk in our upstairs closet. All the kids in the cove came out bright and early and played. We ended up playing outside pretty much all day.
The kids played on the slip-n-slide.
They played on the water slide.
And they ate lots of watermelon. You can't have a summer without watermelon!
On Sunday Carol and I took the kids to the Germantown Athletic Center. We stayed there pretty much the entire afternoon. Then we came home and made Smores in the backyard with all the neighbors.
Monday was intended to be a rest day but, of course, that did not happen. Carol and I woke up early and went to Bootcamp at 6:30 am. Then I took the girls to the Arlington library.
Then we went to lunch with Grammy and Papa at Subway. After lunch we picked up Carol and her kids and went to Jerry's Snowcones!!
Monday night I went to a bible study and then hit the bed early!!!
On Tuesday, Carol and I took the kids to the pool where we stayed pretty much the entire day. The kids had a blast!
On Wednesday, we woke up early to head to Bootcamp! Go us!!!! Once we got home, showered, and ate lunch we took the kids to Yogurt Mountain. Then we came home and played in the cove. Ava and Cami went to tumbling. Then Elia and Ava went to their cousin's house to swim!
Tomorrow is Thursday and I think we are in need of another rest day! Have we mentioned how much we LOVE our summers?????
