Soccer, Sweets, and Singing

Elia had her ASA soccer party with about 85 other girls.  Ok, it was really only about 18 girls but it sure felt like 85 at the party.  Get a bunch of 10 year old girls together and they sure can be a rowdy bunch.  They had a wonderful time though, and the Webers were so nice to open their house up for the party.  The girls each brought a gift, and they played Dirty Santa.  It was the first time many of them had played before so they had a lot of fun!!!

Elia ended up with an Itunes gift card!  She asked Santa for an Ipod Touch this year so this gift card may come in handy in a couple of days.

The girls also made beaded tags with their names to put on their soccer bags.

Krista, Sydney's mom, is like meeting Pinterest in human form.  She truly is amazing!  Not only did she make about every curtain hanging in her house, but she also prepared these adorable name tags along with embroidered headbands and stickers for all the girls.  The soccer party was a big hit, and it was so fun for the girls to get together off the soccer field!

I always spend one day of my Christmas break baking.  I am not much of a cook, and to be honest, I am not the best baker in the world.  However, I do love attempting to bake Christmas goodies.  This year I made pretzel kisses:

Reeses peanut butter cookies:

Peanut butter balls:

and HOMEMADE Snickerdoodle cookies!!!  These are Kevin's favorite cookies so I told him I would make them homemade.  I literally mixed sugar, flour, shortening, egg, etc and made these the old fashioned way.  Tons of fun and they were so yummy!

Our elves are still hanging around the house.  One morning we found them diving head first into one of the presents under the tree.

The next day, the elves were still in the same position.  We are guessing that one of the girls must have touched them and caused them to lose their magic for the night.

This morning we found the elves upstairs in Elia's lego bucket.  Only one more morning before the elves go back to the North Pole!

Tonight we attended Faith Arlington's candlelight service.  It was a wonderful service.  Ava sang a couple of songs with some other kids.

After the service we went to Mexcal for dinner.  We always give the girls $1 each when we go there to spend on the machines in the lobby.  Literally every time we go, one of the girls wins a stuffed animal from the crane machine.  I am starting to think they are sticking their arms up in there and grabbing one because those things are next to impossible to win.  HA!

It is hard to believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve!  Happy Birthday Jesus!
