Orlando Vacation Days 1-4

Here is a look at our first 4 days of summer vacation to Orlando, Florida!

Day 1-Friday

We left our house around 8:30 in the morning.  We drove about 10 hours to Tallahassee, Florida.  The girls were troopers, and we only stopped once for lunch at Cracker Barrel.

We got checked in our hotel and ordered pizza for dinner.  I snapped this picture of the girls eating their pizza and checking their Instagram.

Day 2- Saturday

We woke up and drove the last 4 and a half hours to Orlando.  We hit Walmart and then headed to our resort.  Our room was not ready yet so we put on our suits and went straight to the pool.

This place is so nice!  It is called the Fountains.  Kevin's parents own a timeshare here, and they let us stay for the week!!

Ava got to hold an alligator!

She also entered a Hula Hoop contest!  She came close to winning, but was beat out by 2 teenage girls.

The girls had fun sliding down the water slides.

They also enjoyed snowcones at the pool!  (Notice there are no pictures of Elia yet.  She is almost 11, and does not like to be in pictures.)

Kevin took a little nap at the pool since he was the one who drove the whole way while the rest of us slept.

I managed to get this picture of Elia in the pool.  The girls were playing with a beach ball that Ava won at something by the pool.

Around 4:00, our room was ready so went up and unpacked for the week.  It is such a nice place!  There was a nice living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and 2 baths.

Then we went to Olive Garden since Kevin had a gift card.

Day 3- Sunday

We started this day at Islands of Adventure.

Our first stop was the Harry Potter world!

We made sure we got Butter Beer (not real beer-no worries) as soon as we got there before the line got too long.  It was delicious, especially the cream on top!

Everything about the Harry Potter world was so realistic!

Then we headed to Dr. Suess Landing where we ran into the Holland family!!!

We rode the fun carousel!

Then we rode my favorite ride, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish!

After Suess Landing, we went to the Super Hero section of the park.  Elia surprised us by riding Superman and loving it!  I think it was her favorite ride.  Then I had the bright idea to ride the Popeye ride which gets you absolutely soaking wet!

We were all literally dripping from head to toe.  They had a huge human size dryer so we paid the 5 bucks and we all got in it to dry ourselves off.  We were still soaked but not dripping wet.

We rode many more rides.  Then we made it back around to the souvenir shops.  Ava had a hole in her pockets and wanted to buy everything in sight.  The girls had saved their allowance so they could spend it as they wished, with a little advice from us of course.  Ava bought a Harry Potter wand and a Minion from Despicable Me.

We found the unicorn from Despicable Me.  IT'S SO FLUFFY!!!

Then we went back to our resort and the girls played some games in the arcade.

Then we went swimming in another pool at the resort.

Day 4- Monday

Today we went to Legoland!  This is the place Elia has wanted to go to ever since it opened!  She was super excited!

Our first stop at Legoland was the Imagination Station where the girls got to build cars out of legos and test them out on cool ramps.

They also had Elia's science project there!  HA!  You could build a building.  Then make the platform shake to see how high and wide you need to build your building before it falls.

We saw so many cool things made out of Legos.  We saw Albert Einstein.

A giraffe with a soccer ball which Elia loved of course.

We also saw a full size Ford car made out of legos.

We saw a camel.

This lego pizza guy was outside the pizza place we ate at for lunch.  It was a lot like CiCi's pizza, BUT it cost us $49.00 for 4 people to eat lunch!

We also saw this funny lego man that was snoring.  We thought it was very appropriate for Kevin to sit next to him.  LOL!

We also saw Las Vegas, Paris, New York, the beach, and the White House all made out of Legos.

Ava liked seeing Darth Vader and Darth Maul made out of legos.

We rode a lot of fun rides!

We also saw a great show!

The funniest part of the day was when Elia was begging to play the carnival games.  You know the ones where you pay the guy 6 bucks for one shot in a basketball hoop that is rigged so you have to hit nothing but net to make it in.  Kevin told the girls they could each play one game.  He explained how he was only letting them do this to prove they just take your money and it is impossible to win.  Well, of course, here is Elia with her prize from getting "nothing but net"!  We really proved our point huh?

After Legoland, we went to the Legoland water park.  It was a lot of fun!

The best part of the park was the lazy river where you could build legos on the side of your raft.  I didn't get a picture of it though.

On our way to shop for souvenirs, we had to try the apple fries.  They look just like french fries, but taste just like apple pies with the best whipped cream ever!

Then we hit the Lego store.  Elia bought two small lego sets, and Ava bought a small lego set along with this backpack that she LOVES!

The forecast for the rest of the week is looking quite wet!  I had our week all planned out of course, but I have had to ditch those plans now because of the weather.  Hopefully, we will get to squeeze in some more fun before the week is over!
